During this initial appointment, you will meet directly with Dr. St. Pierre for a one-on-one review of your health and dental history. This isn’t just a routine checkup—it is a comprehensive evaluation where Dr. St. Pierre will personally examine:
- Existing Restorations: Assessing the integrity of older fillings, crowns, or bridges to ensure they are still protecting your teeth.
- Periodontal (Gum) Health: Checking for signs of gingivitis or gum disease to protect your smile’s foundation.
- Occlusal Analysis: Evaluating signs of clenching and/or grinding (bruxism) that can lead to tooth wear and fracture.
- TMJ & Jaw Joint Function: As an area of his expertise, Dr. St. Pierre will check your jaw joints for proper alignment and signs of dysfunction (TMD).
- Digital Diagnostics: We will take any necessary digital X-rays to see what is happening beneath the surface, ensuring a precise diagnosis.
Preparation for Your Appointment
To make your first visit as efficient as possible, please bring the following items with you:
- Identification: A valid driver’s license or state ID.
- Insurance Information: Your current dental insurance card so we can help you maximize your benefits.
- New Patient Forms: You can save time by filling out our online forms in advance.
- Previous Records: If you have had dental X-rays taken in the last six months, please have them forwarded to our office.
